𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺 𝗜𝗻 Your Trading Life And Take Those Trades You Keep Missing
I suppose my most significant transition from an Electrician to a Forex Trader was definitely being overwhelmed. Some days I just couldn’t make the decision to take the trade. And it was brought about by having too many choices to make.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺 𝗶𝘀… 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆.
At the time, as an electrician in my hometown Sittingbourne UK. I never understood the significance of:
- wearing a uniform
- sticking to a routine
- having clear instructions, like, rewire that house in 2 days.
In fact, at the time, I thought it was a bore and was part of the reason for my eventual depression.
But it wasn’t.
𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘆 🤣
Because it actually made my life less stressful because it kept my overwhelm down. Remember, overwhelm is due to too many decisions.
I had to get up early, and we had a break at 10 am, so I never had breakfast, so no decision on what to have for breakfast or when to get up.
I never had to decide what to wear as we had a uniform. We had a straightforward routine of when to start, when to break and when we could leave. I knew how to rewire a house without having to really think because I’d done it so many times before.

At home with my office in the same place as I slept with my wife and kids.
Our brains work in chunks, we have the capacity to work with 5-9 different chunks of information, and then our brains melt. 5 on a bad day, 7 on a good day, and 9 if we are working at our peak.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝟱-𝟳 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆.
🤔 What time shall I get up? (1)
🤔 What shall I wear today? (2)
🤔 When should I have breakfast? (3)
🤔 What do I feel like eating? (4)
🤔 Will I start working today at 9 or 10 am? (5)
🤔 Where shall I start? (𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺)
By the time I sat down at my desk, I was already overwhelmed.
Not the feeling associated with successful trading at all.
𝗦𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆.
Because I wouldn’t be the successful trader, I am today if I’d have kept things the same.
I looked at what worked in the past as an electrician and implemented that into my trading.

😎 Get up at the same time every day. (0)
😎 Wear the same (looking, I am clean😂) clothes every day in the office. (0)
😎 Eat breakfast at the same time every day. (0)
😎 Eat the same breakfast every day. (0) You do not crave as much choice in your foods as you think you do, another conversation for a different day.
😎 Start working at the same time every day. Have breaks at the same time every day. And finish the day at the same time… every day. (0)
😎 Work from my to-do list that was written and prioritised the night before. (0)
No overwhelm for me anymore.
I have decisions in the bank so that when something crops up during the day, as it always does, I can function without feeling overwhelmed and make great decisions.
I take the trades I’m supposed to take with no doubt, no fear, and no overwhelm… not just because I follow my systems and my trading plan.
It’s because I have decisions in the bank. After all, I don’t waste them on minimal choices. I respect myself too much, and so should you.
You will become 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 and more decisive.
